Living Green Quick Tips

Here are a few quick tips to help you along your path to living a greener life.
Save Electricity: Save electricity by unplugging electric items. Even when they are turned off they are using electricity.
No Bottled Water: Besides charging money for a public resource, bottled water companies are responsible for hundreds of millions of virgin plastic bottles and use 1.5 million barrels of oil each year to produce bottled water for the US market alone. Consider using a well-maintained home filtering system and carry a portable water bottle with you.
No More Pesticides: Don't use pesticides to get rid of pests in your garden,. Try these remedies instead. Put plants that pests don't like around those that pests relish. Put birdseed or flowers that attract birds in your garden. The birds will come for the berries and seeds, but they’ll stay for the bugs.
Plant A Tree In Your Yard: Hundreds of trees are being cut down every day. Trees absorb carbon from the air leaving us with fresher air. If home all owners planted a tree or two it will help offset the ones that are being cut down.
Wash Cold And Line Dry: Save energy when doing your laundry by doing it in cold water. Cold water works just as well as hot with most clothes. Line drying is more environmentally friendly and also keeps clothes from shrinking and fading.
